Severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur impacted much of central Georgia and portions of north Georgia Thursday evening through early Friday morning (June 18-19, 2026). A line of strong to severe storms (squall line) crossed much of central Georgia, resulting in multiple reports of damaging winds along with a few likely tornadoes. NWS Peachtree City/Atlanta is continuing to coordinate with local/county emergency managers to collect information and determine what happened. Surveys are possible in the next few days to confirm and finalize information on any tornadoes and stronger damaging straight-line wind events. Specific areas of interest include areas from near Musella in Crawford County into Monroe County, Baldwin into Jones and Putnam County, and Greene County. Due to the holiday weekend and NWS Peachtree City/Atlanta providing continued weather support for multiple high-level events, additional details may take a few more days to release. Once they are determined, NWS Peachtree City/Atlanta will share them in Public Information Statements and via other media outlets. $$
