..............The Growing Season Has Ended..............



The 2025 growing season has ended for a large portion of West 

Virginia and all of our counties in southeast Ohio, northeast 

Kentucky, and southwest Virginia. This is based on temperatures 

reaching at or below freezing across the area last night which 

resulted in a hard freeze or frost for several locations.



As a result, frost/freeze headlines will not be issued until the 

spring of 2026 for the following counties:



Athens, Boone, Boyd, Buchanan, Cabell, Carter, Dickenson, Gallia,

Greenup, Jackson OH, Jackson WV, Kanawha, Lawrence KY, Lawrence

WV, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, McDowell, Meigs, Mingo, Morgan, Perry,

Putnam, Vinton, Washington, Wayne, and Wyoming.





Therefore, this concludes the 2025 growing season for all of the 

Charleston, WV weather forecast office counties of responsibility 

until spring of 2026.
