The thunderstorms have moved out of the warned area and no longer 

pose a significant threat to boaters.



A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 AM CDT for

southeastern Texas...and the adjacent coastal waters.

NM...

Coastal waters from High Island to Freeport TX out 20 NM...

Waters from Freeport to Matagorda Ship Channel TX from 20 to 60 NM...

Waters from High Island to Freeport TX from 20 to 60 NM...



At 530 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts

were located along a line extending from near Buoy 42035 to near High

Island A179 to 6 nm south of Brazos 439, moving southeast at 30

knots.



HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

         hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

         higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

Tabs Buoy F, Galveston A122, Galveston A8, Heald Bank, Tabs Buoy B,

Brazos 439, Brazos A70, Galveston 344, Matagorda Island 557,

Galveston 424, Galveston 221, High Island A109, Galveston 282, High

Island 157, High Island A131, Tabs Buoy W, High Island 63, High

Island A410, High Island A179, and Brazos B133.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are

expected.



Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily

overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor

immediately.
