  Nearshore Waters from Calumet Harbor to Michigan City...

  Open Waters from Wilmette Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid

Lake...



At 718 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These

thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Hammond Marina

to 14 nm northwest of New Buffalo, moving east at 30 knots.



Locations impacted include...

Indiana Harbor, Calumet Harbor, Burns Harbor, Marina Shores at Dune

Harbor, and Hammond Marina.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until these storms pass.



Frequent cloud to water lightning is occurring with these storms. If 

caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from 

ungrounded metal objects.
