At 440 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated scattered strong 

thunderstorms over the waters and portions of northeast Illinois, 

capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These 

storms are moving east at 35 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until these storms passes.



Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the 

open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded 

metal objects.
