At 448 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a strong thunderstorms, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Buoy Key to near Eagle Wreck to 6 nm southeast of Molasses Reef Light, moving south at 10 knots.
