A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...

  Coastal waters from Altamaha Sound to Fernandina Beach FL out 20 

  NM...

  Waters from Altamaha Sound GA to Fernandina Beach FL from 20 to 60 

  NM...



At 627 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated scattered showers and a 

couple of thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 

knots. This thunderstorm was located 11 nm east of Jekyll Island, or 

13 nm southeast of St. Simons Island, moving northwest at 10 knots.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until this storm passes.



Waterspouts are possible with this activity. If a waterspout occurs,

move your boat away from it. Waterspouts can develop rapidly and

produce winds and seas that are dangerous for vessels and everyone

onboard.
