Drier than average easterly flow remains over the American Samoa islands. Satellite imagery shows more sun than clouds over the territory with a passing shower that was recorded on some parts of Tutuila around 11 AM from the ASPA/UH weather stations at A'asu and Afono. Otherwise, easterly trades remained around 10 mph with temperatures above average. Rainfall is forecast to be below average for the rest of the week with no major changes anticipated in the weather pattern over the region. Therefore, there is high confidence that there will not be severe weather. Isolated to scattered (20 to 30% chance) of passing showers are forecast during this period, with a slightly higher chance of showers on Thursday night. Easterly winds remain around 10 mph with temperatures above average. .Long term... For the weekend and into early next week, severe weather is still not expected.
