The previous weather system is on the way out, with high pressure moving into the state. As a result, temperatures will warm today. Average highs west of the Continental Divide are right around 50 degrees for early April, while east of the Divide, normal highs are in the mid-50s to around 60 degrees. Today's highs will be a bit under those, ranging from the mid-40s to mid-50s across the area. However, with ample sunshine and light winds today, those temperatures will likely feel a bit warmer. Today also remains dry across the area. High pressure continues to build in for Sunday, with highs climbing above seasonal averages, in the low to mid-50s west of the Divide, and upper 50s to low 60s east. The dry conditions also continue. The ridge axis passes over the area for Monday, resulting in the warmest temperatures of the next few days. The ridge flattens some starting late Monday as a broad trough moves through. This will not only bring temperatures down a couple degrees for Tuesday and Wednesday, but also brings some shower and thunderstorm chances to the area. Current models are favoring the northern half of the area for these precipitation chances. Tuesday through Wednesday also look quite windy across the area. Another ridge looks to follow, with temperatures trending up for the latter half of the week. Long range models indicate Friday being the warmest day this coming week. Notably, the ECMWF has 700mb temps about 4 to 8 degrees Celsius, while the GFS is a bit warmer with more widespread 6 to 8 degrees. So, some uncertainty with exact temperatures at this time, as to be expected this far out. With these temperatures, we will be watching rivers as snow melts, though nothing is looking concerning as of now. Long range models diverge wildly by next weekend, so its unclear how long the warmer temperatures last. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z MONDAY/...
