Today will be the warmest day of the next week, with highs pushing the upper 80s and 70s for W NV valleys and Sierra communities, respectively. A series of shortwaves over the next week will bring increased winds, most notably Saturday and Tuesday-Wednesday, and slightly cooler temperatures. Gusty winds these days may bring recreation impacts, especially to boaters on Pyramid Lake. Another round of record breaking temperatures is queued up for early next week, though highs won't be as high as they were this past week. The record highs in Reno Monday and Tuesday of next week are 80 and 81, respectively; with the current forecasts of 80 and 84, respectively. With the subsequent shortwaves by Wednesday, temperatures will dip a bit, but still remain 10-15 degrees above normal. Any chances of precip next week have dwindled to zero as the ridge axis parks back over us by mid next week. -Giralte && .AVIATION...
