FXUS65 KPUB 250900 AFDPUB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Pueblo CO 300 AM MDT Sat Oct 25 2025 .KEY MESSAGES... - Very nice thru Monday for the plains temperature-wise, cooling off Tuesday. - Elevated fire weather concerns Monday due to winds/Low RH. - Some high elevation wind driven snow Sunday night/early Monday in central mtns. - Very dry later in the week. && .SHORT TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/... Issued at 254 AM MDT Sat Oct 25 2025 Upper low was over the Tx Phdl early this morning. Some low clouds were wrapping around and were located over the far eastern plains. Can't rule out some light showers along the border, otherwise expect dry conditons. One area of concern will be fog once again developing in the San Luis valley as T/Td spreads near zero over this region. For today, Low will continue to push out of the region and mid level short range ridging will develop over the area. Overall expect a very nice day over the fcst area today with dry conditions and temps in the 60s to L70s over the plains (with the coolest temps over the far eastern plains). Larger valleys will be L60s, with 40s and 50s mtns. For tonight, dry and cool. 30s and 40s plains, 20s larger valleys and mtns. && .LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/... Issued at 254 AM MDT Sat Oct 25 2025 Sunday... Strong Pacific jet is still fcst'd to move into the region from the NW on Sunday. For the plains, it will be another very nice day with temps a degree or two warmer than Saturdays high temps. The high terrain should remain dry through most of the period, but wind driven snow showers should develop after sunset over teh central mtns, with the brunt of any activity occurring during the early AM hours of Monday. Will likely see some downslope early monday along the eastern mtns and banana belt regions will likely see relatively warm min temps Monday morning. Monday... Pacific cool front will move across the fcst area early in the day, Could see some rather gusty NW sfc winds most areas and with dry low level air, fire weather concerns will become elevated over parts of the region. Area of highest concern will likely be the mtns/plains I- 25 corridor region as we could see gusts in the 30-40 mph range and RH values approaching in the 10-15 percent range. Tuesday... Cooler air will move in and expect it to be noticeably cooler region- wide, Max temps will likely only be in the 50s in the plains and valleys (San Luis Valley may actually be warmer than the plains this day). It will be dry, and min temps Tuesday AM may be well into teh 20s across most of the region (if you have not blown out your sprinkler systems/drained the swamp cooler, you may want to do it BEFORE Tuesday morning) Wed into late week...mainly dry. Another cool shot may push into the region by Friday. EC is a bit more cooler than the GFS, but both models has another system affecting the region late week. \/Hodanish && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z SUNDAY/...
