FXUS65 KPUB 030523 AFDPUB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Pueblo CO 1023 PM MST Mon Feb 2 2026 .KEY MESSAGES... - Cool and dry Tuesday - Slight chance of rain/snow showers and flurries Tue night into Wed morning, minor snow accumulations Palmer Divide/Raton Mesa, little if any elsewhere - Seasonably cool Wed, then warm and dry from Thursday through the weekend into early next week && .SHORT TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/... Issued at 200 PM MST Mon Feb 2 2026 Currently...weak cold front and extensive wave cloudiness keeping temps cooler than yesterday at many locations, though still some 60s noted at well mixed locations on the plains. North winds have been breezy at times east of the mountains, with gusts 25-30 mph toward the KS border. Tonight, winds and wave clouds diminish somewhat, leading to a generally cool/quiet night across the region. Weak downslope westerly winds then stir toward sunrise Tue, leading to slowing rising temps along eastern mountain slopes. On Tuesday, upper flow becomes more nwly across Colorado, with another wave pushing a cold front through the plains in the afternoon. Perhaps just enough lift and moisture behind the front to wring out a few rain/snow showers Tue evening into Wed morning, though many 12z model solutions are completely dry through the period. Kept low NBM pops in place over the ern mountains and I-25 corridor for now, highest over the Palmer Divide/Raton Mesa where a light dusting is possible, likely not much more than a brief flurry elsewhere. Front will keep Wed maxes down slightly, though most places will still see readings a little above seasonal averages before wave and front move through. && .LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY/... Issued at 254 AM MST Mon Feb 2 2026 Cool and dry behind the system on Wednesday, with highs in the high- 40s to low-50s, as skies clear. Winds will start breezy, but wane off later in the day as high pressure builds in over the region. Looking into the back half of the week, models show a rapid warmup starting on Thursday beneath the high pressure. High temperatures will be in the 60s across the plains, and mid-high 50s for the valleys. Conditions will be dry across the region as well, though at this time winds appear too weak for any elevated fire weather concerns. This pattern will persist through at least Friday, after with model solutions begin to split in regards to the behavior of the upper-level flow. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z WEDNESDAY/... Issued at 1022 PM MST Mon Feb 2 2026 Conditions will remain VFR at the TAF sites over the next 24 hours with bouts of mid and high level cloudiness increasing again Tue morning. Light winds overnight will increase with the passage of a cold front with north winds 15 to 25 kts increasing at all three terminals in the afternoon. KPUB could see winds shift around from the northeast in the afternoon before becoming more northerly towards 22z as the front moves in. Otherwise, winds will decrease in the evening but remaining elevated around 10-15 kts from the north at KCOS and KPUB through the evening. -KT && .PUB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
