FXUS65 KPSR 250744 AFDPSR Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Phoenix AZ 1244 AM MST Sat Oct 25 2025 .KEY MESSAGES... - Dry and tranquil weather will prevail through the end of next week with temperatures near to slightly above normal. && .SHORT TERM /TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY/... Very quiet fall weather conditions will prevail across the region over the next week. Upper level ridging is currently settling in across the region with moisture levels running near climatological normals. Clear skies currently in place will continue through much of today before some patchy higher clouds move in during the evening, only lasting through Sunday morning. The ridge will help to push temperatures a bit higher than yesterday with lower desert highs across south-central Arizona topping out between 84-88 degrees to as high as the lower 90s across southwest Arizona into southeast California. Despite the ridge getting flattened out on Sunday, heights will stay stable and temperatures will essentially remain the same. && .LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/... The weather pattern for next week will keep any weather systems passing across the Pacific Northwest and/or southwest Canada. A large but semi-flat subtropical ridge will stay positioned across our region or at least just to our south as it will remain the main influence for our quiet weather conditions throughout the week. Overall clear skies are expected to prevail through at least the first half of next week before some potential higher level clouds may move through on or around next Thursday and Friday. H5 heights will drift a bit higher by Monday before staying fairly stable between 585-588dm throughout the period. Temperatures are forecast to bump up 2-3 degrees for Tuesday and Wednesday (when we see H5 heights at around 588dm) with widespread lower desert highs between 89-93 degrees. These peak highs will run 5-8 degrees above normal, but they will still fall short of daily records by around 5 degrees. NBM forecast temperatures do trail off slightly going into next weekend, but we are likely to be stuck with highs mostly in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees through at least next weekend. The dry weather pattern for our region is not expected to change for at least the next 10 days. && .AVIATION...Updated at 0505Z.
