Issued at 316 AM MDT Sat Jun 20 2026 An upper level trof is moving through Idaho today and will bring isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. There is a 50 percent chance some of the central mountains could see over 0.10 inches of rain and some eastern mountain areas by Sunday morning. But overall is starting out very dry so little risk at all of significant precipitation unless a very strong thunderstorm develops. It will be much cooler today with highs mainly 60s and 70s mountains and 70s to lower 80s valleys. Will be breezy in the Eastern Magic Valley and Snake River Plain with 25 to 35 mph wind gusts expected. Sunday will see only isolated showers and thunderstorms in the eastern mountains with minimal chances elsewhere. Monday through Friday will be dry with a warming trend with high temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above normal Tuesday into Thursday. An upper level wave is pushing through Idaho today and is expected to cause scattered thunderstorms throughout the day. Red Flag Warnings are in effect for most of southeast Idaho. Will start out very dry but There is at least a 50 percent chance of wetting rain through tonight mainly in zones 411, 413, 422, 475 and 476. But a lot of storms will start out dry. there is a potential for 35 to 50 mph outflow wind gusts this afternoon and evening as well. It will be much cooler today with higher minimum humidity than yesterday. It will begin to warm up again Sunday and dry out once again.
