Issued at 222 AM MDT Tue May 5 2026 A cold front has moved through southern Idaho overnight and expect much cooler conditions today with high temperatures in the 40s and 50s mountains and 60s in lower elevations. Breezy to windy northerly and northeasterly winds with gusts 20 to 30 mph will also be present and a Lake Wind Advisory is in effect for the American Falls Reservoir. The other main impact will be the potential for sub freezing overnight lows tonight and frost advisories or freeze warnings are in effect for the Snake River Plain and Eastern Magic Valley early Wednesday morning. It will remain cool Wednesday but then another significant warming trend begins on Thursday with high temperatures back into the 70s in lower elevations. Above normal temperatures are expected through early next week with a slight cool down Saturday but then lower elevation highs in the 80s by Monday into next Tuesday. Will have some showers this morning and afternoon especially near the Utah border, but then mainly dry conditions with a slightly better chance for showers again on Saturday with a weak upper level system. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z WEDNESDAY/... Issued at 936 PM MDT Mon May 4 2026 Cold front will continue to make its way through Eastern Idaho tonight into tomorrow morning. So have kept some VCSH in the TAFs for the next few hours as the HRRR shows showers continuing. Impacts at a specific terminal seem low confidence though. Some dry time Tuesday morning will be expected before another chance at afternoon showers and isolated storms. It will also be breezy on Tuesday with gusts ranging from 20 to 30 kts even outside of any storm activity. Most of the forecast period will bring VFR conditions with the exception being if a storm is able to track directly over at terminal when drops to MVFR CIGs or VIS would be likely. && .PIH WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
