(Tonight through Thursday) WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: A trough of low pressure will move eastward across Northern California today. Ahead of this trough of low pressure, strong, gusty southwest winds are expected in Northern Nevada. Southwest wind gusts near 55 mph are anticipated in Humboldt County this afternoon and evening. As a result, A Wind Advisory is in effect for Humboldt County from 11 AM PDT this Saturday morning until 11 PM PDT this evening. Southwest wind gusts near 40 mph are expected in Elko County this afternoon and evening. Blowing dust will reduce visibilities at times. Travel will be difficult, particularly for high profile vehicles. The aforementioned trough of low pressure will progress eastward across Northern Nevada tonight through Sunday night, resulting in periods of precipitation. Snow levels will start at around 7,000 feet this afternoon, before dropping to about 6,000 feet tonight. Snow accumulations will generally be an inch or less, except in Jarbidge where three to five inches of snow is possible. The majority of precipitation will fall Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon.
