DRIER THROUGH MONDAY:



A rather pleasant start to the work week with seasonable 

temperatures and dry conditions on tap for Monday. This is mainly 

due to a building high pressure system over the Great Basin.  





PRECIPITATION CHANCES RETURN TUESDAY ONWARD:



By Tuesday, a low pressure system begins trucking its way across the 

Great Basin and Intermountain West. While this is occurring, a high 

pressure system will begin to set itself up over Texas. Both of 

these factors combined will act to draw Gulf moisture into the 

Desert Southwest. As a result, precipitation chances return to the 

forecast just in time for the first day of fall. PWATs appear to be 

180-200% of normal for a good chunk of the CWA, with the highest 

values forecast to be south of I-70. This moisture stays in the area 

for a majority of the week. Therefore, precipitation chances will 

remain in the forecast for the foreseeable future, especially over 

the southern mountains. Coverage of showers and storms ebbs and 

flows each day, with some days seeing more widespread chances than 

others. As more HiRes guidance becomes available, we will have a 

better understanding of timing and coverage of precipitation 

each day.

Winds are expected to be light and terrain-driven throughout the

TAF period. Some mid-level cumulus will move into the region

throughout the afternoon, but cigs will remains about ILS

breakpoints and VFR conditions will persist.
