FXUS65 KGGW 241118 AFDGGW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Glasgow MT 518 AM MDT Fri Oct 24 2025 .DISCUSSION... KEY MESSAGES: - High pressure and mostly sunny skies will prevail through Saturday night. - Scattered rain and isolated snow chances are possible Sunday into Monday night. WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: A weak Rex block pattern with ridge over Montana and upper low in the 4-corners area will slowly push east through the weekend. This is in response to the deep low over the Gulf of Alaska transitioning into western Canada and pushing a trough through the Pacific Northwest. Warm and dry weather continues through Saturday, then the lee trough in Central Montana will strengthen and be pushed east as a cold front by the incoming upper trough on Sunday. Intermittent light rain is possible just behind the front with the instability from cold air advection, but strong westerly downslope flow will quickly take over with a stacked low developing over the Canadian prairies. Temperatures closer to normal and breezy conditions are expected for early next week. FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: No changes were made to the going forecast. Winds potentially will naturally increase for day 3 and beyond as the frontal system becomes better defined. Forecast for beyond day 5 has high uncertainty with large ensemble spread. && .AVIATION... VFR. High pressure will be over the area through the TAF cycle. Expect beautiful flying weather with mainly clear skies and increasing clouds by this weekend. && .GGW WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
