WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: A final warm day is expected over NE Montana today though with increased uncertainty with the presence of a stationary front in the northeast, increased cloudiness, and isolated rain showers. In any event, any precipitation amounts will likely be on the lighter side. That ridge breaks down with additional showers riding along the boundary over the weekend as temperatures tick lower. Ensembles show upper ridging returning across the western U.S. for early next week with dry weather and warming temperatures again. That said, embedded shortwaves and ridge flattening toward the middle of the week will keep the warm up short lived and rain shower chances remaining active across the region. FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: The main deviation this cycle was to ramp up wind speeds for the short term forecast period. Want to highlight somewhat reduced confidence on highs today given increased cloudiness expected as well.
