Please exercise appropriate precautions if you are planning on any outdoor activity through the weekend. && .DISCUSSION...An anomaly of a high pressure cell will center over Arizona today and Friday, before slightly weakening over this weekend. The ridge flattens out a bit early next week, but may amplify again later in the week. Expect record breaking temperatures to persist, perhaps all the way through the forecast period. However, today through Friday will be the warmest days. && .AVIATION...Thursday 19/12Z through Friday 20/12Z...Expect VFR conditions. Winds generally light, localized NE drainage winds to 20kts along and SW of higher terrain will diminish by 15Z Thursday and resume after 03Z Friday. OUTLOOK...Friday 20/12Z through Sunday 22/12Z...Expect VFR conditions. Daytime sfc winds W-SW5-15kts Friday, then SW15-25kts on Saturday. Light winds overnight, except localized NE drainage winds to 20kts will persist along and SW of higher terrain each night. && .FIRE WEATHER...Thursday and Friday...Dry and historically warm. Daytime temperatures 20-30 degrees above normal each day, with large diurnal swings at night. West through southwest winds 5 to 15 mph each afternoon. Saturday through Monday...Very dry with historically warm daytime temperatures. Expect temperatures to decrease slightly by Sunday or Monday, but still remain at least 20 degrees above normal. Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph Saturday, decreasing to 10 to 20 mph and turning more west-southwest for Sunday and Monday.
