.SYNOPSIS...Expect well above normal temperatures for this week, 

likely peaking in record territory by Thursday and Friday. Skies 

will generally be clear, with mainly light winds.

.UPDATE...No changes to the forecast made. Going to be a

relatively pleasant day with temperatures going above average

starting today and lasting through the next 7 days at least.

.PREV DISCUSSION /416 AM MST/...High pressure dominates the southwestern United States 

for this forecast period, peaking in the Thursday/Friday time frame. 

This ridge will bring well above normal temperatures and generally 

clear skies. Daytime temperatures may push 20 degrees above average 

by later this week, which will be in record territory for some 

locations. Winds will generally be light and terrain driven, less 

than 10-15 mph for the most part.



There is some indication that this pattern breaks down late in the 

period, but even so, it looks dry with temperatures simply falling 

back to around normal.

.AVIATION...Monday 07/18Z through Tuesday 08/18Z...VFR conditions 

are expected. Winds are VRB or terrain driven at 10 kts or less 

throughout the period.



OUTLOOK...Tuesday 08/18Z through Thursday 10/18Z...Continued VFR 

conditions with minimal cloud cover. Afternoon winds are W-SW 10-20 

kts on Tuesday, becoming W-NW 5-15 kts on Wednesday. Winds are light 

and VRB or terrain driven during overnight periods.

.FIRE WEATHER...Monday and Tuesday...Above normal temperatures 

expected each day, with minimum RH values forecast to be below 15%. 

Light and variable winds today, becoming west through southwest 10-

20 mph on Tuesday.  



Wednesday through Friday...Daytime highs 10-20 degrees above normal 

expected each day, with minimum RH values remaining below 15%. Light 

and variable winds Wednesday and Thursday, becoming southwest at 10-

20 mph on Friday.
