(Today through tonight) Issued at 1102 PM CST Sun Feb 1 2026 Weak upper-level ridging will persist over the area through this afternoon, and begin to flatten and push eastward through tonight. Once this ridge pushes off to the east, it will make way for a broad upper-level trough to settle into the area overnight tonight into Tuesday morning. At the surface, the pressure gradient across the area will tighten up late this morning through tonight, with a cold front beginning to push into the Big Country overnight tonight into Tuesday. What this means for West Central Texas is warmer conditions under south to southwesterly flow, and gusty south to southwest winds from 15 to 20 mph with higher gusts from 25 to 35 mph in the afternoon. High temperatures today are expected to reach into the 60s, and overnight lows into Tuesday are expected in the upper 30s to near 50. Winds are expected to diminish slightly overnight tonight into early Tuesday morning, but are expected to start becoming gusty again as early as mid Tuesday morning. && .LONG TERM... Highs on Wednesday will be in the 50s and lower 60s, with lows Tuesday night and Wednesday night mainly in the 30s, although some upper 20s will be possible in some of the outlying areas early Thursday morning.
