FXUS64 KOHX 192332 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 632 PM CDT Thu Mar 19 2026 ...New UPDATE, AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 630 PM CDT Thu Mar 19 2026 - Mostly dry weather with a warming trend through Sunday. - Low rain chances (<30%) Sunday night into Monday associated with a cold front passage. && .UPDATE... Issued at 630 PM CDT Thu Mar 19 2026 Very peaceful weather across Middle Tennessee right now and there were no forecast adjustments made for the short-term. && .SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Friday) Issued at 1027 AM CDT Thu Mar 19 2026 Clouds have cleared and made the way for sunshine in the mid-state. Temperatures will continue to warm into the 60s and 70s, with some passing clouds possible. Northwesterly flow aloft makes for easy passage for shortwaves across the state, but some surface high pressure to our east should keep things at bay for the remainder of the work week. This high pressure will allow for SW winds across Middle Tennessee, continuing the flow of WAA. Highs into Friday should reflect this, getting into the upper 70s. && .LONG TERM... (Friday Night through next Thursday) Issued at 1027 AM CDT Thu Mar 19 2026 High pressure will hold strong to our east and south into the weekend, letting our temperatures continue to be much warmer than average. Highs on Sunday look to reach the mid 80s, which would threaten current high temperature records for this time of year. This dry period will be brief for parts of the area on the Cumberland Plateau, however, as some low end rain chances (<30%) enter with a cold front. QPF with this does not look high currently, but there is still quite a bit of divergence in the guidance so a bit too soon to say much more on this opportunity for precipitation. Guidance has seemed to trend downward on the existence of rain showers in our area for this front, so we will continue to monitor this trend as it evolves. After the cold front on Monday, highs will return to the 60s and 70s through the remainder of the forecast period with surface high pressure looking to build in behind the front. && .AVIATION...
