FXUS64 KOHX 071111 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 611 AM CDT Mon Apr 7 2025 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 608 AM CDT Mon Apr 7 2025 - River flooding will be the main concern for the next several days. - While we don't do frost/freeze headlines until May 1, temperatures will be sufficient for a frosty conditions Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. && .SHORT TERM... (Tonight through Tuesday Night) Issued at 1105 PM CDT Sun Apr 6 2025 Light rain and drizzle continue to plague the eastern half of the mid-state at forecast time as we deal with the backside of the system that wrought havoc across Middle TN for the last few days. Rains should be completely out of the area and into East TN before daybreak, but we're going to be dealing with the ramifications of this last system for several more days as rivers continue to run high across the area. A couple are still in moderate flood and several others hover the minor flood or advisory levels, so if you are near or have interests close to any rivers in the region, you'll want to continue to monitor trends through mid-week. The first half of this week is going to be fantastic. Temperatures will fall back below normal starting tomorrow and while we will probably struggle to see much sun tomorrow, by Tuesday, the sun should be back in all its glory as high pressure takes over. What will be evident with those below normal temperatures is the morning lows in the 30s and maybe even some upper 20s in our typically cooler spots. Get those jackets back out! && .LONG TERM... (Wednesday through next Monday) Issued at 1105 PM CDT Sun Apr 6 2025 By mid-week, southerly boundary layer flow returns to the southeastern US as our next weather system starts to develop across the center of the country. By Wednesday night, rain chances will be on the rise and by Thursday, scattered thunderstorms will be around. Instability should be pretty limited with this system, so at this point, I don't expect any severe weather. As Thursday night rolls around and longwave pattern amplifies over the eastern half of the US, another shot of cooler air will arrive to start the weekend under northerly flow. Nothing out of the ordinary, but definitely several degrees below normal. && .AVIATION...
