Updated at 1124 AM CST Mon Feb 2 2026 - Warming afternoon temperatures through Tuesday. - High chance for rain Tuesday into Tuesday night. - Dry weather mid to late week with overnight lows in the 20s. && .SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Tuesday) Issued at 1106 AM CST Mon Feb 2 2026 Short wave ridge is building in this afternoon and that will bring quiet weather along with clearing skies. Highs will push into the low to upper 40s. High level clouds start to move in this evening ahead of our next system. A short wave trough will dig out of the northern Plains with a surface low developing over TN tomorrow afternoon. This will bring our next chance for rain. Showers will start to develop in the western part of the area during the mid-morning and spread east into the afternoon. Showers will diminish late afternoon into the evening as the cold front sweeps through the region. Cold air will build in with the cold front but will be behind the precip and we are not expecting any snow. Rain totals will range from around 0.10" in the northwest up to 0.75" in the southeast. Highs Tuesday will be similar to Monday. && .LONG TERM... (Tuesday Night through next Monday) Issued at 1106 AM CST Mon Feb 2 2026 Cold air will be building into Middle TN on Wednesday and that will push our highs back into the 30s Wednesday and Thursday. High pressure building in from the west along with clear skies will bring cold conditions Wednesday night with lows falling into the teens. Strong upper level ridge built over the West and will start to push east some late week bringing higher heights to us. This along with southerly flow will warm highs back into the 50s. A trough will pass to our northeast as we head into the weekend and that will cool things back into the 40s but the precip and cold arctic air associated with this system will remain to our north and east. High pressure quickly builds over the Great Lakes behind the low and will give up southerly flow. This will warm highs back into the 50s Sunday and Monday. && .AVIATION...
