Issued at 1200 AM CDT Sat Mar 21 2026 Northerly to northwesterly flow aloft will continue through much of the period as our local area remains on the eastern periphery of a strong upper ridge over the southwest US. The surface ridge situated across the northern Gulf as a rather elongated surface low pressure system passes north of our region on Sunday. A large high pressure system is then expected to build into the region from the north Monday into Tuesday. It will remain dry through the forecast period, but there could be a few spotty showers midweek is we are able to see a modest increase in moisture. Inland high temperatures today will reach the lower to middle 80s and continue through all of next week. High temperatures closer to the coast will reach the middle to upper 70s and continue through all of next week.
