Issued at 1252 AM CDT Fri Mar 20 2026 Temperatures gradually warm by the end of the week as an upper ridge builds in from the west, and remains largely intact through the middle of next week. The surface ridge situated across the southeast states and northern Gulf gets shunted southward this afternoon as a surface low pressure system moves eastward across the Great Lakes region. The surface high pressure will then remain across the Gulf as another rather elongated surface low pressure system passes north of our region on Sunday. A large high pressure system is then expected to build into the region Monday into Tuesday. High temperatures today inland ranging from 75-80 degrees will reach the lower to middle 80s Saturday and continue through the middle of next week. High temperatures today closer to the coast ranging from 70-75 degrees will reach the middle to upper 70s by early next week and continue through the middle of next week.
