Expect slightly warmer temps each day with beautiful weather all week. - Dry cool front passage at the end of the week. No appreciable precipitation chances expected today through the forecast. && .SHORT TERM... (Today through Wednesday night) Issued at 350 AM CDT Mon Apr 7 2025 Finally, a calm and quiet short term forecast. Upper trof axis will cross the region today allowing dry airmass to filter in, clearing out skies from west to east. High pressure will settle in overtop the region in the wake of passing trof. Conditions will feel nice and cool today with only slightly warmer temps tomorrow. You cannot ask for a more beautiful start to the work week. Airmass will moderate in larger fashion Wednesday as highs return to the mid to upper 70s. Moisture starts to make a return but dewpoints should only hit the lower 60s. Not enough moisture or lift to bring back cloud cover, but a few low level puffy clouds can't be ruled out. Please get outside and enjoy the weather this week! 11/Calhoun && .LONG TERM... (Thursday through Monday) Issued at 350 AM CDT Mon Apr 7 2025 Still, a dry and quiet longterm period is in store. Thursday into Friday, an upper low is set to amplify and dive south out east- central Canada. The resultant strong northwest flow will send southward a dry cool front passage late Friday. No precipitation is expected and temperatures in the mid 70s to low 80s can be expected Thursday, Friday and Saturday. While daytime temps will be in the "warm" territory, slightly drier air will cause the end of the work week to feel rather pleasant. High pressure moves overhead and moisture/heat return Sunday into Monday. 11/Calhoun && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 716 AM CDT Mon Apr 7 2025 Large trof is currently situated in east Texas with a deep area of dry, clear air noted moving east towards the Deep South. On the eastern fringe of the trof, flow aloft has generated some light showers on southwest to northeast corridor from the TX/LA coastal area inland across lower Acadiana. These showers are very light and aren't amounting to much, but they are occurring near LFT and ARA. These showers will hang around for a few more hours until dry air can work in with the traversing trof. Breezy winds from the north will prevail again today, with a diminishing trend expected as high pressure moves into the region. 11/Calhoun && .MARINE... Issued at 350 AM CDT Mon Apr 7 2025 North to northwest winds will prevail through the morning. The residual high swells and wave heights from the south meeting these north winds will create very short wave periods, resulting in steep seas through this morning. Winds and seas will gradually subside this afternoon and Tuesday as the surface high settles over the area. && .FIRE WEATHER... Issued at 316 AM CDT Mon Apr 7 2025 Northwest winds will bring much cooler and drier conditions for the first part of this work week. Minimum RH values today will be in the 40 to 45 percent range, 30 to 35 percent Tuesday. A warm and moistening trend begins Wednesday with very warm and humid conditions present again through the end of the week. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
