FXUS64 KJAN 211852 AFDJAN Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Jackson MS 152 PM CDT Sat Mar 21 2026 ...New DISCUSSION... .KEY MESSAGES... - Quiet weather and warm conditions prevail through the end of next week. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 147 PM CDT Sat Mar 21 2026 Through Sunday: Continued warmer than normal and dry through Sunday. Our CWA will remain on the eastern periphery of a large mid level high that will slowly flatten through Sunday. The 1018mb surface high centered over the northern Gulf this afternoon will shift east through Sunday but continue to provide and warm moist low level flow across our CWA. Daytime heating will lead to a few wind gusts tomorrow. This wind along with the ridging surface and aloft will help afternoon temperatures top out a degree or two warmer than today. Morning lows Sunday will be warmer than normal as well. /22/ Sunday night through Friday: Quiet conditions with a brief cooldown (highs: 70s/lows: 50/60) will close out the weekend. A dry, frontal boundary will be responsible for the seasonal average temps on Monday and Tuesday before rebounding to above seasonal average temps for the rest of the week. Surface ridging will build in post frontal boundary will be the dominant feature over remaining part of the week. Latest model guidance have backed off a shortwave disturbance traversing through northeast MS, thus dropping rain chances below 15% for Tuesday afternoon/evening. Warm conditions will quickly return as highs range in the 80s to close out the work week. Heading into the weekend, another dry front will push into the area, slightly reducing temp into the 60s and 70s for the weekend. /SW/ && .AVIATION...
