FXUS64 KJAN 210806 AFDJAN Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Jackson MS 306 AM CDT Sat Mar 21 2026 ...New DISCUSSION... .KEY MESSAGES... - Quiet weather & warm conditions prevail through the end of next week. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 306 AM CDT Sat Mar 21 2026 Today through next Friday... Quiet and dry weather conditions are in the forecast for today as surface ridging continues to spread across our CWA. Cloud cover will start to increase from the southwest early this morning with sky conditions clearing by noon with morning lows in the upper 50s/lower 60s. Patchy fog may possible along and south of Hwy 84 this morning, but dense fog probabilities remain low at this time. Southwesterly winds will continue to advect warm air into the region allowing for temperatures to undergo a warming trend. Look for daytime highs to peak into the low 80s areawide. Quiet conditions will prevail across our CWA later tonight thanks to the sfc ridge with overnight lows ranging in the upper 50s/lower 60s. Sunday will remain quiet with afternoon highs in the mid/upper 80s. It is possible that highs this weekend could have the potential to break several records especially if warmer guidance verifies. The forecast for the long term period remains on track with no adjustments made to the overall forecast. Temperatures will start to cool slightly across the southeast CONUS Monday into Tuesday as long term guidance continues to show a dry frontal boundary moving through the region. As the frontal boundary pushes south towards the Gulf Coast, increased return flow will develop over the our area. This will allow for temperatures to rebound into the 80s Wednesday into Thursday. Another brief cool down in temperatures is possible looking ahead Friday into Saturday as another dry front pushes south towards our area. /CR/ && .AVIATION...
