FXUS64 KJAN 210618 AAC AFDJAN Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service Jackson MS 118 AM CDT Sat Mar 21 2026 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... - Quiet weather & warm conditions prevail through the end of next week. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1245 PM CDT Fri Mar 20 2026 Saturday through Friday: Pleasant conditions are expected to kick off the first day of Spring and will continue throughout the weekend. Temperatures will remain above seasonal averages into next week. Low probability (10-30%) of patchy, dense fog is expected early Saturday morning. Surface ridging across the southeast CONUS will supply warm air advection across the region via southwesterly winds. As the ridge amplifies, increasing high(low/mid 80s)/low(upper 50s/low 60s) temps are expected over the weekend. Impactful weather is not expected; however, there are a couple of noteworthy weather features to look for into the new work week. First: a dry, frontal boundary that will swing through the area late Sunday. This will briefly drop highs to the mid 70s to low 80s and keep lows ranging in the 50s and 60s on Monday. Second: a weak, shortwave disturbance pushing through late Tuesday may bring isolated (<15% probability) showers to northeast MS, but widespread rain is not expected. Temps will quickly rebound into the 80s through the mid week. Warm and quiet conditions will continue for the rest of the extended period. /SW/ && .AVIATION...
