FXUS64 KJAN 201152 AAA AFDJAN Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service Jackson MS 652 AM CDT Fri Mar 20 2026 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... - Quiet weather & warm conditions prevail through the middle of next week. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 334 AM CDT Fri Mar 20 2026 Today through the late week... Another round of pleasant weather conditions in the forecast today as sfc ridging continues to spread across the southeast CONUS. Sky conditions will remain clear this morning with morning lows in the low to mid 50s areawide. Patchy fog may be possible along and south of Hwy 84 this morning and later tonight, but dense fog probabilities remain low at this time. Conditions this afternoon will remain quiet under clear skies. Look for daytime highs to peak into the low 80s areawide. Pleasant conditions will continue heading into tonight with overnight lows dipping into the mid to upper 50s across our area. Southerly winds will advect warm air into the region heading into the weekend allowing for temperatures to undergo a warming trend. Look for highs to range from the low to mid 80s and nighttime lows to range in the upper 50s to low 60s. Temperatures will start to cool slightly across the southeast CONUS Monday into Tuesday as long term guidance continues to show a dry frontal boundary moving through the region. As the frontal boundary pushes south towards the Gulf Coast, increased return flow will develop over the our area. This will allow for temperatures to rebound into the 80s Wednesday into Thursday. Another brief cool down in temperatures is possible looking ahead into Friday as another dry front pushes south towards our area. /CR/ && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 652 AM CDT Fri Mar 20 2026 Light southerly winds will occur across all sites through the period, with VFR ceilings prevailing at most sites. Cannot rule out some patchy fog (BR) and MVFR stratus near PIB, HBG and HEZ just prior to daybreak Saturday. Confidence is too low to put any MVFR stratus at any site, outside of HEZ. If stratus develops, cannot rule out dropping to as low as IFR. /DC/ && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
