Issued at 244 PM CDT Sun Apr 6 2025 Tonight and Monday: It will be cooler than normal through the period in the wake of the cold front that has pushed southeast of our CWA. A surface high will build into our CWA from the west and an upper level trough will move across our region through Monday. This positively tilted upper level trough axis was to our west this afternoon and the resulting southwest flow aloft across our CWA will continue to help maintain very low chances of light rain/light drizzle across our CWA this evening. The chance for rain will gradually taper off from the west tonight into Monday morning as a piece of the upper level trough swings east across our region. Another piece of the trough will hang back over the Southern Plains through Monday. The chance for precipitation will end in our southeast before noon Monday. Temperatures will be significantly cooler tonight bottoming out in the mid 40s to lower 50s. Our overcast skies will linger into Monday morning but decrease in cloudiness during the afternoon. This will allow enough insolation to help most sites top out around 60 degrees. Normal highs run 73- 77F. /22/ Monday night through next Sunday: Weather looks to be mostly quiet behind the frontal boundary which will have progressed through the area. A cooler and drier airmass will continue to move into the region behind the front locking dry conditions through the long term forecast. High temperatures look to stay in the low to mid-60s through Wednesday before rebounding into the mid 70s by the end of the period, in contrast overnight lows will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s through Wednesday morning before rebounding into the mid 50s. As for rain chances, will be Thursday night into early Friday morning for the northeastern portions of the coverage. Rain chances will be low 20-30% range as a weak cold front swing through the area. /KP/ && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 706 PM CDT Sun Apr 6 2025 A cold advection pattern will favor considerable MVFR/IFR category stratus this forecast period with gusty northwest surface wind. Ceilings should bottom out during the late night to early morning hours with slow improvement as we go through Monday. There will also be some vsby restrictions (mainly MVFR) due to light drizzle this evening and this could persist into the early morning hours. /EC/ && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
