FXUS64 KBRO 240536 AAA AFDBRO Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service Brownsville TX 1236 AM CDT Fri Oct 24 2025 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 1234 AM CDT Fri Oct 24 2025 -Above normal temperatures will continue across Deep South Texas. -An approaching cold front will bring increasing marine/beach concerns Friday and Saturday, as well as low to medium (20-40%) rain chances on Saturday. -Cooler temperatures on the way in the middle of next week. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1019 PM CDT Thu Oct 23 2025 The main story for the first portion of the forecast period will be the approach of a cold front on Saturday. Ahead of the frontal boundary dry conditions will prevail through Friday. As the pressure gradient tightens ahead of the front, breezy conditions are expected on Friday into Saturday, mainly over the Gulf waters and along the coast. This will lead to a moderate to high risk of rip currents over the weekend. The frontal boundary pushing into northwestern portions of the CWA will also increase rain chances on Saturday into Saturday night (20-40%), primarily along and east of I-69E. The Storm Prediction Center had placed Deep South Texas in a Marginal Risk for severe weather earlier today, but have since pulled us out and we remain in a general thunderstorm risk. Will continue to monitor this for potential changes over the next 24-36 hours. Sunday morning the front will wash out before passing through the region, thus temperatures will not be affected. Dry conditions are expected through the remainder of the forecast with temperatures remaining 5-10 degrees above normal through Tuesday. Another cold front is expected to push through the region late Tuesday/early Wendesday bringing a bit of a relief to the hot temperatures. This will be a dry front but temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday are only expected to reach near normal or possibly a few degrees below normal for this time a year. && .AVIATION...
