(Today through Tuesday night) Issued at 307 AM CDT Mon Apr 7 2025 Pleasant weather is in store for today with highs in the mid to upper 60s with light west, then northerly, winds around 10 mph maybe less. Surface winds continue to stay light tonight as they return to the south. Clear skies with the light winds will allow temperatures to fall into the 30s with the exception of the Canadian River Valley and areas off the Caprock that may remain in the low 40s. Tomorrow, H85 temperatures warm with the development of a surface trough over eastern NM and the western Panhandles. This will allow temperatures to rise into the mid 70s to lower 80s for Tuesday. Winds should become south to westerly 10 to 15 mph under this surface trough with the northwest seeing some light and variable winds. Much warmer overnight temperatures, in the mid 40s across the FA, expected Tuesday night as H85 temperatures stay warm and winds stay closer to 10 mph allowing for some mixing. 36 && .LONG TERM ... (Wednesday through Sunday) Issued at 307 AM CDT Mon Apr 7 2025 Dry conditions expected to continue through the extended period with a slight cool down Wed into Thu behind a weak cold front. The FA will continue to be influenced by and upper level trough to the north and northeast over the Northern Great Plains into the Mid to Upper Mississippi River Valley allowing for northerly surface winds on Wed. Wed afternoon temperatures get restrained with the northerly winds. Then some slight CAA enables Thu to be the coolest day with afternoon temps in the lower 70s to the west and mid 70s to the eastern FA. Fri, temperatures begin to rise, back into the upper 70s to lower 80s, as an upper level ridge begins to build into the area Sat. Areas off the Caprock have a 10 to 20 percent chance of reaching 95 degrees or warmer per the NBM probs. These warm afternoon temps in the upper 80s continue into Sun as well.
