High temperatures will be 5-10 degrees below normal. - Drier but continued cool conditions are forecast for the end of next week...including Halloween. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 142 PM CDT Fri Oct 24 2025 As surface low pressure slowly organizes over the southern Great Plains, mid- and high-level cloud cover will continue to slowly increase in coverage across the region. However, surface pressure over the central Appalachians will funnel dry easterly surface winds into the region tonight through most of the Saturday. This will keep the great majority of the region dry until Sunday (with the exception of the Ozark Foothills, where some sprinkles or very light showers are possible). Temperatures will be around normal values for this time period. Rain shower coverage will ramp up in earnest Sunday as the surface low slowly passes just south of there region. After a relative lull in coverage Monday, a secondary disturbance will bring another round of rain showers Tuesday into Tuesday night. Rainfall totals by Wednesday will be fairly modest, ranging from 0.75" to 1.50", with the highest amounts near the KY/TN border and the lowest totals near Interstate 64. The abundance of cloud cover and precipitation will keep temperatures suppressed during the daytime and relatively mild at night, with lows in the 45-50F range and highs reaching 55-60F. The region will finally begin to dry out Wednesday night into Thursday as cool, Canadian high pressure moves south into the Great Lakes. However, high temperatures will remain slightly below normal by 5-10 degrees, with highs of 55-60F and lows of 37-42F for the end of the work week (and Halloween next Friday). && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z SUNDAY/...
