Issued at 210 AM CDT Sat Oct 25 2025 Today and Tomorrow... Water vapor imagery this morning displays a mid- to upper-level low moving into the TX/OK Panhandle region. North of this system, a widespread stratus cloud deck persists, with ceilings generally ranging from 500 to 3000 feet. Areas of fog and light drizzle have developed across central Nebraska, resulting in reduced visibilities across portions of the western CWA (east-central NE). While widespread dense fog is expected to remain just west of the area, patchy areas with visibilities under one mile will be possible. Visibility should gradually improve through the morning hours, though extensive low-level cloud cover will persist through much of the weekend as the aforementioned low slowly tracks eastward. The persistent cloud cover will limit daytime heating, keeping highs in the mid-50s to near 60, while overnight lows hover in the mid- to upper 40s, minimizing frost potential. Most precipitation wrapping around the northern side of the low will stay south of the NE-KS border, though a few light showers may extend into extreme southeast NE and southwest IA. As a result, lingering 15% PoPs remain in place through midday Sunday, with total rainfall amounts expected to be minimal. Monday and Beyond... By the start of the work week, a high-amplitude, negatively tilted trough is expected to move into the central and northern Plains, driving a cold front through the region and bringing the return of more widespread precipitation chances. PoPs currently peak between 50- 75% Monday into Tuesday. A strong jet streak will pivot overhead on Tuesday along with strong 850 mb winds. An increasing pressure gradient and perhaps some mixing down of strong winds aloft could bring a breezy to gusty day on Tuesday. Precipitation chances will diminish by Wednesday, with dry conditions expected for the remainder of the work week. Temperatures will remain fairly steady through the period, with highs generally in the mid-50s. Lows will hold in the 40s Monday and Tuesday before gradually cooling through the latter half of the week as cloud cover decreases. Lows in the mid to upper 30s are expected Wednesday and Thursday, with a few locations potentially dipping near freezing by Friday morning. && .AVIATION /12Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z SUNDAY/... Issued at 526 AM CDT Sat Oct 25 2025 MVFR to LIFR conditions persist this morning. Drizzle/mist has brought visibility restrictions to KLNK and KOFK along with ceilings bouncing between IFR and LIFR. Conditions improve eastward towards KOMA where visibility restrictions are minimal with generally MVFR ceilings in place. Visibility and ceilings will gradually improve after daybreak through the late morning hours, though MVFR conditions are expected to prevail across all terminals through the majority of the forecast period. Winds will remain out of the southeast at 8-10 kts. && .OAX WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... NE...None. IA...None. && $$ DISCUSSION...Wood AVIATION...Wood
