Little to no accumulation is expected. - Cool through Sunday, then a warming trend next week. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 148 PM CDT Sat Apr 5 2025 Water vapor imagery this afternoon indicates an upper jet max spanning from the Central Plains into the Great Lakes Region as a wave begins to lift out of the Southern Rockies. At the surface, a cold front spans from southern Texas toward Lake Eerie while stout northerly winds persist over the forecast area. These are expected to continue through the remainder of this afternoon before weakening overnight and remaining relatively calm to close out the weekend. The aforementioned wave will eject out of the Southern Rockies later this afternoon and evening, bringing forcing for additional chances for precipitation to south central and southeast Kansas. Short-term model thicknesses and temperature profiles continue to support rain transitioning into a rain/snow mix (and then potentially snow) after sundown and lasting into Sunday morning, especially in areas along and south of I-35. Little to no snow accumulation continues to be expected given exceptionally dry air below 800 mb, though a light dusting can't be ruled out across areas in southeast Kansas. Overnight lows through Sunday morning will dip into the middle 20s in central Kansas and range from the low to middle 30s across south central and southeast Kansas. High temperatures Sunday afternoon are expected to reach the 50s areawide. Dry conditions are expected to resume as strong zonal/northwesterly flow aloft begins to settle in over the region. After a chilly morning on Monday with low temperatures near 30, a warming trend is expected to ensue, with highs in the 60s by Monday and then 70s by Tuesday. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z MONDAY/...
