- Clipper Brings Light Snow Tonight into Monday



Light snow moves in late tonight into Monday morning with 1-2

inches along the lakeshore and an inch or less further inland.

Light snow paired with temperatures in the teens to low 20s will

bring slick spots for the Monday morning commute.



The shortwave trough that will bring our round of light snow

overnight into Monday is currently over western Wisconsin and will

gradually move east reaching the lakeshore around midnight.

Moisture is not that deep, nor is the best lift in the dendritic

growth zone, therefore snowfall rates should remain light.

Probabilities of 2 or more inches are focused in Muskegon, 

Oceana, and Mason Counties where the fetch off the lake is the 

best for some lake enhanced snow. Therefore some isolated pockets 

up to 3 inches is possible (30 to 50 percent). The best moisture 

exits the region Monday morning with the potential for some 

lingering light showers into the afternoon. We will have to 

monitor for some freezing drizzle late Monday morning into the

afternoon as the shallow moisture may lack cloud ice.



- Another Clipper Bringing Snow Thursday Night into Friday



Dry conditions are expected due to surface ridging Tuesday into

Thursday before another clipper system swings through Thursday

night into Friday. The placement and strength of the low still

varies, but there is a trend toward lower probabilities of 2 

inches or more (20 to 40 percent) and 4 inches or more (20 

percent) since yesterday's forecast. Overall looking like another

light widespread snow event that could bring some slick spots for

the Friday morning commute.



Behind the cold front Friday temperatures will fall with lake

effect showers likely developing and continuing through the

weekend. Friday will be our warmest day of the week with 

temperatures approaching 30 degrees.

MVFR ceilings will be moving east across Lower Michigan between

06Z and 12Z with areas of IFR in light snow arriving with the

clouds. Expect patchy IFR to continue for several hours this

morning before conditions improve to MVFR with areas of VFR by

late afternoon or evening. South winds will go west in the

afternoon and remain AOB 10 knots.
