FXUS63 KGRB 240259 AFDGRB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Green Bay WI 959 PM CDT Thu Oct 23 2025 Updated aviation portion for 06Z TAF issuance .KEY MESSAGES... - A Freeze Warning continues for east-central Wisconsin tonight, likely ending the growing season. - Below normal temperatures are expected through Friday followed by a slow warming trend into the weekend. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 237 PM CDT Thu Oct 23 2025 Clearing skies across much of the region tonight will allow for cold temperatures to settle in across the area, which will likely end the growing season for the rest of the area where Freeze Warning headlines are currently in effect. North-central Wisconsin could see clouds linger longer given the northwesterly flow off Lake Superior. Some lake effect showers could also continue into early this evening across north-central Wisconsin. Cool temperatures will continue on Friday as high pressure builds in across the western Great Lakes region. As the high slides off to the east this weekend, temperatures will warm to around normal as dry weather continues across the area. The next chance for precipitation will not arrive until the Tuesday through the middle of next week time frame when a low pressure system approaches the region from the west. However, recent model runs keep the ridge in place and shunt most of the moisture and dynamics to the south of the area. Therefore, there is a chance most of next week will be on the drier side as daytime highs generally remain in the 50s. && .AVIATION...for 06Z TAF Issuance Issued at 958 PM CDT Thu Oct 23 2025 High pressure builds in later tonight, but MVFR to lower VFR clouds will be slow to scatter out over northern and central WI (CWA/AUW/RHI). Though the BKN-OVC stratocu clouds this evening over east-central WI (GRB/ATW/MTW) will mainly scatter out overnight, there still could be scattered to potentially broken VFR clouds drifting across through the night. On Friday, any lingering stratocu will scatter out at CWA/AUW early, while clouds at RHI will not erode until late morning. Otherwise, it will become mostly clear in the afternoon with just passing high clouds. Winds will be light, mainly from the west-northwest. Conditions remain VFR on Friday night as mid and high clouds slowly increase from the west. && .GRB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
