Issued at 222 AM CST Tue Feb 3 2026 Light northwesterly winds and dry conditions are expected today with increasing high level cloudiness this afternoon into this evening. Highs today should reach into the 50s. A weak disturbance will then move through the Central Plains tonight pushing a cold front through the area. The atmosphere above western Kansas may be moist enough for some light precipitation to fall east of Scott City to Ashland after midnight. The temperatures look to be cool enough for some of this precipitation to change over to snow towards day break. The current run of the NBM depicts the best chance for measurable precipitation to be along the I-70 corridor where up to a 42 percent chance of precipitation is found. Dry conditions return tomorrow with decreasing cloudiness from west to east throughout the day and mostly clear skies tomorrow night. As for temperatures, lows tonight look to dip to around 30 degrees with high tomorrow in the upper 40s to low 50s. Lows tomorrow night dip into the mid to upper 20s. The remainder of the forecast remains dry as an upper level ridge builds over the Rockies with northwest flow over western Kansas.
