20z surface observations showed dry and breezy conditions across

the western third of the forecast area. From about Route 83 on

west, humidity levels are in the 15-20% range, with an overlap

of 25-35 mph winds. This is leading to an elevated fire weather

risk this afternoon across those areas. Any potential fires

could be quick to spread. Humidity is just high enough though to

preclude critical fire weather spread, therefore any Red Flag

headlines are not issued at this time.



A weak system will swing southward from the northern High Plains

Tuesday night and into Wednesday. Given the origin of the 

system, moisture will be rather limited with its passage. 

Precipitation chances are 20-40%, mainly across northern and 

eastern counties. P-type is a bit of a challenge as forecast 

soundings largely show surface temperatures mostly above 

freezing for much of Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, but 

temperatures fall quickly aloft. After coordination with 

neighboring offices, went with a rain/snow mix given a warmer 

surface and sub-freezing temperatures aloft. Given the light 

nature of any potential precipitation, and temperatures 

generally above freezing, accumulations will be little to none.



Temperatures will continue to be above normal levels throughout

this week and into next weekend, aided by ridging and 850 mb

temperatures in the 10-15C range. High temperatures will be in

the 50s and 60s throughout the week and into this weekend. Low

temperatures will be in mid 20s to low/mid 30s during this

stretch. Precipitation chances are nearly zero through the rest

of the forecast period beyond Wednesday afternoon.

VFR conditions will prevail throughout the 18z TAF period. A

wind shift is beginning to move southward across the area, and 

winds will be from northerly direction through the afternoon.

Breezier conditions can be expected at GCK and LBL compared to

DDC and HYS, with sustained winds around 15 knots to the west

and 10 knots farther east. Northwest winds 5-10 knots will be

most prevalent into tonight and into Tuesday morning.
