Issued at 345 AM EDT Sat Oct 25 2025 Pattern Synopsis...Sharp midlevel shortwave ridging pattern builds through the central U.S today. At the surface, high pressure continues to build across the midwest, returning cool and quiet weather through the entirety of the short term. Forecast Details... Today...The cool Canadian airmass influencing the northwoods for the past several days will scour out today, leaving behind clearing cloud cover and overall quiet weather today. H8 temperatures begin to slowly warm today but still remain near freezing. Adiabatic and daytime heating processes will push daytime highs into the low to mid 50s for most locations. Tonight...Clearing skies will continue tonight as subsidence aloft continues surface high pressure. Calm winds and radiational cooling processes will allow temps to fall into the mid 20s across interior northern lower while locations near marine environments remain in the low to mid 30s. With dew point depressions shrinking, patchy fog development remains the only real risk, focusing on interior northern lower and eastern upper. && .LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/... Issued at 345 AM EDT Sat Oct 25 2025 Midlevel ridging pattern will continue to occupy the Great Lakes region through Tuesday. Ongoing subsidence will keep conditions dry and quiet up through midweek this week. Low level temperatures slowly warm Sunday and Monday resulting in seasonably warm daytime highs in the mid/upper 50s. Overnight clear skies with efficient radiational cooling will continue temperatures near or below freezing Sunday and Monday nights. Midlevel troughing currently over Canadian west cost progresses across the country this week while developing into a longwave pattern encompassing central North America. Guidance continues to support enough instability at times in order to keep low probabilities of precipitation in the forecast. Current trends do not support widespread or heavy rainfall, but northeast flow into the region with enough moisture advection from the east coast will likely continue periods of rainfall after midweek this week. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z SUNDAY/...
