Robust surface ridging remains aligned off the southeast Atlantic

Coast to the Gulf. This feature continues to drive windy east to 

southeasterly breezes across the Keys this evening. Winds are 

trending slowly downwards as the ridge settles ever so slightly 

east southeastward in response to troughing moving into the 

eastern United States. Meanwhile, sharp upper level ridging 

stretches north northeastward across our area and the heart of the

mid level ridge centered not far off and just northeast of the 

Bahamas. This evenings sounding indicates precipitable water is 

slightly below normal with multiple modest inhibition layers based

between 700 and 940 mb. The result of the all the above is a 

fairly scoured cloud field on recent satellite imagery and no 

precipitation echos within the forecast area.



Expect winds to slowly diminish through the overnight period.

Windy conditions may give way to breezy by late in the night. This

steady flow will continue to hold up overnight lows in the upper

70s with dew points remaining near 70. Rain chances will remain

quite small with mostly clear skies.

High pressure off of the southeast Atlantic Coast will be nudged

slightly east southeastward through the overnight period by

troughing over the eastern United States. As a result, the slight

downward trend in winds will continue through the night. With that

said, winds remain fresh and a Small Craft Advisory remains in

effect for all Keys waters. Only minor adjustments made in the 

evening marine update.

Surface winds will be fresh out of the east to southeast with the

slow relaxing trend continuing.
