No significant changes to the forecast other than updates to the

aviation discussion.

.KEY MESSAGES...

1. Fair and dry weather will dominate early this week with frost

possible at night.



2. There is a signal for a slow moving coastal system near the 

East Coast late in the week. Impacts will be track dependent, 

which remains uncertain at this time range. The potential 

exists for rain, gusty NE winds, and high surf sometime over 

next weekend.

KEY MESSAGE 1 DESCRIPTION...



After some early morning low clouds and fog, confidence is high

that fair weather will prevail today through at least 

Wednesday. Broad high pressure over southern Canada will be the 

source of this fair weather as it drifts east through the week. 

As the high remains centered north of the area, temperatures 

will trend cooler than normal for both day time highs and 

overnight lows. This will translate to highs in the low to mid 

60s and lows in the 30s to 40s. There will likely be favorable 

radiational cooling conditions most nights and it is likely some

spots south of the mountains will see some frost.





KEY MESSAGE 2 DESCRIPTION...



At the end of the week, models have consistently shown the 

potential for a coastal low to impact the region. A high degree 

of storm track uncertainty still remains, but the low could 

allow for some much needed rainfall over the weekend if the low 

takes a more westerly or northerly track. Gusty winds and high 

surf could be possible as well.

.AVIATION /12Z MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...

Through 12z Tuesday: Morning valley fog will dissipate early,

with some MVFR cigs remaining across the northern valleys into

mid morning. Light north winds remain steady today, shifting NE

and becoming light tonight. Upper cast of cirrus passes tonight,

which should help keep valley fog in check, but can't rule it

out where cloud cast isn't as continuous. 



Outlook:



Tuesday-Wednesday: Mainly VFR with no sig wx.



Thursday-Friday: Mainly VFR outside of nighttime valley fog.

Some increase in winds and showers possible late Friday and

Friday night.

.MARINE...

High pressure will remain centered north of the waters through 

mid week while an area of low pressure develops offshore of the 

Mid Atlantic. Winds and seas likely remain below SCA thresholds 

into Tuesday. A strengthening NE gradient will bring potential 

for periods of SCA conditions Wednesday and Thursday and 

potential for Gales late in the week depending on the track of 

the low pressure system. Regardless of track, seas will likely 

build in excess of 5-7ft around Thursday and continue to build 

into the weekend.
