A wave of low pressure over the Upper Great Lakes will move eastward off the Northeast coast by overnight Sunday. The storm will produce heavy snow over parts of the Northeast, with isolated pockets of rain/freezing rain over parts of Upstate New York and New England overnight Saturday, and snow over the region on Sunday and Monday. Rain will develop from the Northern High Plains to the Great Lakes overnight Saturday. As the front sags southward, showers and severe thunderstorms will develop over the Ohio Valley and the northern Mid-Atlantic on Sunday, with a higher threat of hail. Rain will develop over parts of the Mid-Atlantic on Monday. Meanwhile, upper-level energy will trigger rain showers over parts of the Central/Northern Plains on Monday, moving into the Upper Mississippi Valley by Monday evening. Elsewhere, a front moving onshore over the Northwest will dissipate by Sunday morning. The system will produce rain and higher elevation snow over parts of the Northwest through Sunday afternoon. Weak onshore flow will aid in producing light rain and higher-elevation snow over parts of the Northwest on Monday afternoon.
