A front extending from the Northeast to the Ohio Valley will move eastward off the Eastern Seaboard by Saturday. The boundary will trigger showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Ohio Valley/Central Appalachians, rain over parts of the Mid-Atlantic and into the Northeast, and snow over northern Maine through early Saturday morning. Furthermore, a wave of low pressure over the Northern Plains will move eastward to the Northeast by Sunday evening. The storm will produce rain/freezing rain over parts of the Upper Great Lakes from Saturday morning into Sunday evening. As the system moves eastward on Sunday morning, heavy snow will develop over parts of the Northeast with patches of rain/freezing rain over parts of Upstate New York. Showers and thunderstorms will return to the Ohio Valley by Sunday evening, while rain and snow return to the Northeast on Sunday. Meanwhile, a front moving onshore over the Northwest moves east and southward to the Northern Intermountain Region and Northern California by Sunday. The system will produce rain and higher elevation snow over parts of the Northwest and Northern Intermountain Region from Friday night into Saturday night. Rain and higher-elevation snow will develop over parts of the Central Plains on Sunday. By Sunday evening, high pressure will move over the Northern Plains.
