Eastern U.S....



...A series of storms will bring unsettled weather to the Pacific

Northwest and the Northern Rockies...





A low pressure system responsible for severe weather and excessive

rainfall across the Midwest over the past several days will

produce some final showers and thunderstorms along the East Coast

tonight before coming to an end. The southern portion of the cold

front will hang up over south Florida and generate scattered

thunderstorm activity across the region through Tuesday.

Temperatures will drop well below average across the eastern half

of the country compounding issues posed by flooding over parts of

the Ohio Valley tonight and Tuesday night. Highs in the 30s and

40s will represent a 20-30 degree departure from average for much

of the Ohio Valley, interior Northeast and Central Appalachians.



A secondary system will produce snow showers downwind of the Great

Lakes through Tuesday. The heaviest snow should accumulate over

interior portions of the Northeast (downwind of Lake Ontario,

Adirondacks, northern New England) where 4-8 inches of snow are

expected. A series of systems will continue to bring unsettled

weather to the Northwest over the through early Wednesday morning.

Low elevation rain and isolated thunderstorms and high elevation

snow showers will impact the region.
