The pattern over Hawaii for the next week looks to hold 

stationary as an area of weakness/shortwave gets caught between 

strong high pressure to the east and west of Hawaii. This will 

help bring deeper ITCZ moisture northward with some heavy rainfall

potential for Hawaii this weekend and into next week. Moderate to

gusty easterly winds this weekend will weaken next week 

underneath this trough, with high pressure attempting to build 

back in over/north of the islands by later next week. The guidance

shows good agreement on this overall pattern, but still with some

uncertainty in the details which affect QPF distribution and 

amounts across the island chain.
