An upper high just north of Hawaii will weaken and move westward

with time as a weakness in the ridge/upper shortwave develops over

Hawaii around next Tuesday. This should help bring deeper ITCZ

moisture northward with some heavy rainfall potential for mainly

the southern islands by later this weekend and into next week.

Moderate to gusty easterly winds will weaken next week underneath

this trough. High pressure may begin to build back in over/north

of the islands by later next week. The guidance shows generally

good agreement on this overall pattern, but still with some

uncertainty in the details which affect QPF distribution and

amounts across the island chain.
